The former still sounds great but its difficult playing effective legato passages on some instruments and doesn't have the dynamic range and playability as the latter. The latter is more advanced with legato and additional tricks like re-bowing and decent playable runs and is the one you want for more in-depth orchestrations. The Hollywood series is more recent and recorded at Eastwest Studios. EWQLSO was recorded over a decade ago at a different venue.
